Multiple Sheboygan residents submitted open record requests in June of this year regarding any communications between Mayor Ryan Sorenson, Adam Westbrook, Preston Kite, or the Abbey of the Brew City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Mayor Sorenson proudly claimed he was operating in his official capacity as mayor of Sheboygan when he posed for this picture at the Sheboygan Pride event in June of 2023.

There have been major developments since this photo.

Former human resources director Adam Westbrook has pled guilty to federal charges for sex crimes involving children.

Mayor Sorenson has never released a statement regarding Westbrook’s criminal charges.  

Westbrook was identified in an investigation of former Racine County Deputy Preston Kite, who has pled guilty to over 20 sex crimes involving children and animals.

Kite was ordered by the court not to have contact with animals for the safety of the animals!

In addition, two other Fox Valley men were convicted of sex crimes against children and animals.

Both men were associated with Westbrook.

Shortly after Westbrook was arrested, TBS was contacted by an anonymous source stating there was a high-profile case in Kenosha relating to Westbrook.

The case involved Preston Kite which led law enforcement to Westbrook. The Kenosha investigation led to the discovery of Westbrook recording videos of sexual abuse involving his adopted children and distributing the videos to Kite.

Our anonymous tip was proven to be true.

There were also anonymous reports that Preston Kite was the nun in the controversial photo with Sorenson at the 2023 Sheboygan Pride event.

TBS also received reports that Kite was associated with Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

There were additional reports of an email from Kite to Sorenson and Westbrook which stated Kite was the nun in the photo. This email allegedly states Kite apologized for any backlash due to the Pride Day photograph.

This 2023 Pride Day photograph caused multiple Sheboygan residents to feel they were discriminated against based on their religion. These residents felt the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence were mocking their beliefs.

The additional information that Kite was allegedly in the photograph with Sorenson prompted the residents to file open records requests in June of 2024.

Sorenson was listed as a recipient on the open records request emails and has NEVER responded to any requests.

Current Human Resources Director Kelly Hendee did respond, as did Assistant City Attorney Liz Majerus. Despite multiple responses, records have yet to be produced.

One frustrated resident took their concerns regarding the city’s refusal to comply with Open Record Laws to Sheboygan County District Attorney Joel Urmanski. This is the next step according to state statute regarding open records requests. Urmanski has had communication with Majerus, who assured him she would share the records.

It has been six months. No records have been shared regarding Preston Kite and Mayor Sorenson.

Why won’t Sorenson respond?

Is there an email between Sorenson and Kite?

Under Sorenson’s leadership there has been a lack of direction, endless lawsuits, and ethical concerns. Also concerning is Sorenson’s refusal to be open and transparent with Sheboygan residents.
